For Men

In this day and age a man struggles seemingly endlessly to support his family and himself, to keep them all safe from the wiles and the sin of the world, and to shine his light as a Christian who loves the Lord. God does not want anyone to struggle; he wants us to come to him in prayer and in faith, knowing he is there always to help us and to give us strength, peace, wisdom, and guidance. He loves us, and he wants us to remember him in all areas of our life. The Bible is filled with scripture verses we can hide away within our hearts to renew us each day and give us the inspiration we need to face each day and whatever it may bring.

Here are just a few inspiring Bible quotes to help men to stay strong in their faith and in their love of the Lord each day, and to encourage their families and be a beacon for them as well:

  1. Psalm 103:13- “As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.”

(The Lord is not to be feared as a punisher, but rather in the same line as an earthly father who teaches and has compassion for those who respect him.)

  1. Joshua 1:8,9- “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate thereon day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

(Study and take the word of the Lord to heart, and you will always be certain to do the right thing and obtain results pleasing to the Lord.)

  1. 1 Chronicles 28:20- “And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed; for Jehovah God, even my God, is with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until all the work for the service of the house of Jehovah be finished.”

(Do as David advised his son Solomon “to do and place all of your faith and trust in the Lord always, without fear, because the Lord will never let you down”)

  1. 1 Corinthians 16:13- “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.”

(Always be aware and never let your faith waver or falter, for God is with you all the time.)

  1. 1 Peter 3:15- “…sanctify in your hearts Christ as Lord: [being] ready always to give answer to every man that asketh you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, yet with meekness and fear.”

(Always keep Jesus Christ in your heart and tell everyone about Him when they ask about your good attitude and strength.)

  1. Phillipians 1:14- “…most of the brethren in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear.”

(Let your faith in the Lord, even in adverse circumstances, encourage others to hold fast to faith and to speak to others about Him as well.)

  1. 1 Peter 3:7- “Ye husbands, in like manner, dwell with [your wives] according to knowledge, giving honor unto the woman, as unto the weaker vessel, as being also joint-heirs of the grace of life; to the end that your prayers be not hindered.”

(Husbands treat your wives with respect, love, protect, and cherish them, and God will be pleased with you.)

  1. Micah 6:8- “He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

(God has shown you the way in which he wants you to live in order to honor and please him)

  1. Phillipians 4:13- “I can do all things in him that strengtheneth me.”

(There is nothing you cannot do if you allow God to be your strength rather than relying on only yourself or other men.)

  1. Matthew 28:20- “…lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”

(God will never leave your side, throughout all time.)

  1. Romans 1:17- “For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith.”

(Teachings about the Lord may differ and come from different places and sources, but simply speaking of faith isn’t enough. We are to LIVE by faith to honor him.)

  1. Deuteronomy 31:6- “Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be affrighted at them: for Jehovah thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

(Do not fear any man; God is your strength and your protector, and he will never leave you.)

  1. Proverbs 3:5,6- “Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding:

In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he will direct thy paths.”

(Don’t try to understand all things yourself; trust God and know that he knows everything, and he will lead you in the things you need to do.)

  1. Proverbs 16:3- “Commit thy works unto Jehovah, And thy purposes shall be established.”

(Do everything for the glory of God and you will never go wrong.)

  1. Isaiah 41:10- “Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

(Do not fear anything, because the righteousness and the strength of God are always with you, and he will strengthen and support you always.)

Whenever encouragement is needed, take a moment, no matter where you are or what you are doing, close your eyes, and speak with your Heavenly Father. God hears our prayers, spoken and unspoken. He knows our needs and our trials. He never leaves us, and he will lead you to the scriptures you need at that moment to strengthen and encourage you.
