About Life

We live in a time and in a world that, sadly, does not know the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Kings. Daily we are faced with the evil and sin that permeates our society at every turn. It is easy for even the most devout Christian to feel overwhelmed sometimes. It is in those moments that it is most important to turn to the word of the Lord, the Bible, and find solace and strength in the scriptures, God’s holy word. Here are just a few verses to help you to be encouraged and to know that he is always by your side, sustaining you with his strength and love:

  1. Proverbs 3:5,6- “Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding:

In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he will direct thy paths.”

(Don’t try to figure out all of life’s problems by yourself; trust in God and he will show you what you need to know and what you need to do.)

  1. John 14:27- “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.”

(Don’t look to the world for peace and comfort; turn to God and he will never let you down.)

  1. Psalm 55:22- “Cast thy burden upon Jehovah, and he will sustain thee: He will never suffer the righteous to be moved.”

(When you place your faith in God, he will give you strength and support to get through difficult times.)

  1. 1 Peter 5:6,7- “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you.”

(Submit to God, have faith in him, and he will be there for you in your difficult times in life.)

  1. Psalm 119: 114, 115- “Thou art my hiding-place and my shield: I hope in thy word. Depart from me, ye evil-doers, That I may keep the commandments of my God.”

(Keep your faith in God, keep his commandments, stay away from people who do not honor God, and he will always be your protector.)

  1. 1 Timothy 6:12- “Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, whereunto thou wast called, and didst confess the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.”

(Profess your faith to everyone, do not be ashamed of your love of the Lord. Your reward will be eternal life in Heaven.)

  1. Deuteronomy 30:19,20- “I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed; to love Jehovah thy God, to obey his voice, and to cleave unto him; for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”

(We each have the choice to love our God, to follow his commandments, to honor his name, and by doing this we will be able to be with him in Heaven one day.)

  1. Proverbs 14:27- “The fear of Jehovah is a fountain of life, That one may depart from the snares of death.”

(Know that the Lord is almighty and all-powerful, and trusting in him will protect you from the devil’s ways.)

  1. Romans 5:10- “For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life”

(By believing in and sharing Jesus with others, we are saved and redeemed by his death, and this world holds no harm for our spirits.)

  1. John 6:35- “Jesus said unto them. I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”

(Jesus will supply our every spiritual need, and we will want for nothing as long as we love him and trust in him.)

  1. Psalm 19:50- “This is my comfort in my affliction; For thy word hath quickened me.”

(God’s word and promises comfort us in difficult times in life. It gives us strength.)

  1. John 11: 25,26- “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on me, though he die, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth on me shall never die. Believest thou this?

(As long as you believe in Jesus and his resurrection, you will be saved and will live eternally in Heaven.)

  1. John 8:12- “Again therefore Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

(Jesus assures those who believe in him that he will never allow them to be lost in their life; he will show them the right way to go in every circumstance.)

  1. Psalm 120:1- “In my distress I cried unto Jehovah, And he answered me.”

(When we are experiencing difficult times in life, the first thing we should remember to do is turn to God. He never leaves us, no matter what.)

  1. 1 John 5:20- “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”

(We are all a part of God, and through the coming of Jesus, we were given understanding of this to guide us throughout life.)

The walk of a Christian life may not be easy at times, but we have the blessed assurance of our Heavenly Father that if we remain steadfast and strong in his will and his love, we will one day be with him in paradise. Let us persevere and live our lives daily as an inspiration to others, keeping ourselves shored up with prayer to renew us daily, and keeping God’s word in our heart, remembering that we are his, redeemed by the blood of Jesus for eternity.
