For Women

Being a woman is a multi-faceted role. Individual, wife, mother, friend, worker, helpmeet, encourager. The world can sometimes make it difficult to stay focused and stay strong in all we must do as women. But we always have an encourager and a source of never-ending strength and love by our side, and that is our heavenly Father. God’s holy word, the Bible, provides us with scriptures to uplift and guide us through even the most trying times. Here are just a few scripture verses that you can turn to whenever you may need a fire lit under your faith or just a boost to your everyday walk with the Lord:

1. Luke 1:45- “…blessed is she that believed; for there shall be a fulfilment of the things which have been spoken to her from the Lord.”

(God will honor his promises to those who believe and whose faith is steadfast in him.)

2. 1 Chronicles 16:11- “Seek ye Jehovah and his strength; Seek his face evermore.”

(Look to God for all things, never stop turning to him. He is with you forever.)

3. Psalm 73:26- “My flesh and my heart faileth; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.”

(When we are weak and afraid, God is our strength and our sustenance in every way.)

4. Proverbs 31:10- “A worthy woman who can find? For her price is far above rubies.”

(A Godly woman is more precious than any material treasure.)

5. 1 Timothy 2:8-10 – “I desire therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing. In like manner, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefastness and sobriety; not with braided hair, and gold or pearls or costly raiment; but (which becometh women professing godliness) through good works.”

(God desires that a woman value and represent her appearance as he made her, and not to cover or alter it with expensive jewels or clothing. God desires that a woman allow her inner beauty and Godliness to shine through.)

6. Proverbs 11:16- “A gracious woman obtaineth honor; And violent men obtain riches.”

(A woman of God strives to be faithful in her love of the Lord, representing him in every way, while a man who does not care about God will only seek earthly treasures and wealth.)

7. Ephiasians 2:8- “For by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.”

(We cannot earn our salvation or God’s love with our own actions. It is a gift we must freely accept and honor as the wonderful gift that it is.)

8. Proverbs 14:1- “Every wise woman buildeth her house; But the foolish plucketh it down with her own hands.”

(A Godly woman will make the Lord the foundation of her home and her family, always honoring his word. A woman who does not do so will face many difficulties and hardships with nowhere to turn.)

9. Psalm 46:10- “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

(God wants us to calm ourselves from worry and fear and realize that he is all-powerful, and that he cares for us.)

10. Colossians 3:23- “Whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men.”

(Don’t do things to impress other people or to win their approval; do what you know will please God.)

11. Proverbs 31:25,26- “Strength and dignity are her clothing; And she laugheth at the time to come.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; And the law of kindness is on her tongue.”

(A woman of God surrounds herself with his holy word and his presence, and she does not worry in times of trouble. She speaks of him and of his goodness to others. She speaks encouragingly to others.)

12. Isaiah 66:1- “Thus saith Jehovah, Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will ye build unto me? and what place shall be my rest?”

(God wants us to place him at the head of our household. He wants to find a Godly home that will welcome and honor him.)

13. Phillipians 2:3-5- “Doing nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself; not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others. Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”

(We are none better than the other, and God wants us to uplift and help each other as he did and as he does to this day.)

14. Galatians 5:16- “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

(Hold fast to your faith and to God’s word and the temptations the world offers will not even be attractive to you.)

15. 1 Peter 3:2-4 – “Beholding your chaste behavior coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible apparel of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”

(God does not want women to wear a lot of fancy jewelry, clothing, and makeup to appear attractive, but rather he wants a woman to let her faith and her love of the lord shine through and make her beautiful.)

There is never a reason to fear or worry, the Lord is at your side every moment. Place yourself, your household, your children, your family, all of your cares in his hands. This is what he wants from each of us – to trust him with the things we hold most dear; the things he has given us to love. Read your Bible daily, hide his word away in your heart, and share it with others to increase their faith and knowledge of God. Be a living example and a beacon of light and encouragement. This will well please God and your reward in Heaven will be beyond measure.
